We suggest all new players or prospective players start here to provide the best services for each individual.
The private lesson is an essential part of a junior players development. We suggest that all players have a private tennis coach because the private coach will guide players through the development process. We suggest shorter thirty minute lessons for younger students, and longer one hour lessons for older students.
Private lessons focus on mostly the technical, physical, strategical, and tactical development of a player. Here at NRTG, we use a unique progression based development system. We break down areas of the game to smaller pieces to allow players to better understand and execute areas of their game. This prevents the frustration of not improving due to targeted and focused development of weaknesses and strengths.
NRTG features some of the best tennis clinics you will ever witness. NRTG believes that no students should ever be left unengaged during a clinic. Many clubs have students standing in lines or waiting without anything to do, but here at NRTG we pay close attention to keeping all players engaged so as to maximize their individual development. We use a variety of teaching methods, exercises, drills, activities, and games to do this. We also incorporate best practices from teaching adolescences on the tennis court help players develop discipline, mental toughness, independence, and other crucial life skills. We strive to keep the coach to player to no more than 3-4 players per a coach.
Please watch the video below to get a feel for what we do in our clinics. We have 6 levels of junior development. Click the button below to learn more about our junior clinics and the development levels.
NRTG offers a unique type of lesson we call a hitting lesson. These are match play lessons, where players play matches with a tennis pro in order to learn match play tactics, strategy, and gain an overall insight in how better to play in matches. These lessons are for players who are rated in our system of advanced level or better.
Semi-private lessons are lessons where 2-4 players work with a tennis professional to develop certain parts of their games. This is an extremely cost effective way of providing players with an opportunity to hit a large volume of balls, with effective instruction, and guidance to ensure maximum benefits. Please watch the video below to see a glimpse of what we do in our semi-private sessions.
If you are interested in semi-private lessons, please contact either the front desk at 440-327-2114 or discuss this opportunity with your private tennis coach.
High Performance Drills
Our high performance drills are run by Tariq Ismail, the Director of High Performance. These drills are by invitation only and are focused on the further development of committed tennis players. There is usually a higher coach to student ratio due the higher capability of these players. These sessions are focused mostly on competitive situations and match play.
Please watch the video below to see what typical high performance drills look like. Please remember we do a variety of different things each week to keep players constantly having fun and engaged.
Junior Team Tennis
Junior team tennis is our club's weekly match play opportunity. It is a great place for a player to get their match play experience due to the affordability and convenience of the matches. Players are matched with players of similar or better ability to ensure a positive player experience.
Matches are scheduled from either 4:00-5:30 PM or 5:30-7:00 PM on Sundays during the late fall, winter, and early spring sessions.
Players must be rated as baseliner level or higher in order to participate. Please contact the front desk at 440-327-2114 if you are interested in competing.
